An Interesting Correlation
Particularly in light of the tragic affliction of some of my fellow Boca Ratonians. David Asman has found one:
“The ten states (including the District of Columbia) with the highest ratio of psychologists per 100,000 residents, were, with the exception of Colorado, all blue states, which supported John Kerry...The ten states with the lowest ratio of psychologists per 100,000 residents, all were red states, supporting Bush…”
I'll let the readership draw their own conclusions.

I just goes to prove what many of us suspected of those BLUE states all along. Their residents are a little "OFF".
Or is it that liberals need someone to tell their tales of woe to, for money? Because they don't even want to hear each others problems. I am certainly tired of hearing all the tales of gloom and doom they spread.
Except that tale about Social Security going broke. Somehow that seems to have fixed itself in the last 4 years.

Hmmm, well Social Security still looks broken to me. About time that Bush finally decided to address it.

It could just be a cultural thing.
Although, as a resident of the DC Metro area, I can see lots of things that drive people crazy. Traffic around here is so bad it's starting to drive people away. I was the innocent victim of bad accidents in October 2001 and June 2004. Driving used to be fun. It isn't around here anymore.
Then there are the overscheduled lives we lead. How many hours a week do people in Red States work? What other things do people do out there?
Consider, also, the cost of living. I was stunned when Mitchell Burnside Clapp mentioned how much a home cost in Oklahoma. I could sell my townhouse (with much still owed on it) and, with the cash in hand, buy a house in Oklahoma outright.
I manage to avoid becoming nuts by doing a variety of things most people around me can't do. At least I think I'm not totally nuts...
I don't know what all this says about politics. I do know I'm not exactly enamored of creationists, etc. Their beliefs seem unhinged in some ways. They don't feel impelled to seek therapy, though. Whether that's good or bad I'll leave to others to decide.

I didn't mean to imply that SocSec WASN"T broken. Thats the tale the dems are telling. It needed overhauling for the last 15 years, or more, and they had 8 of those and did nothing.
My point was they were "worried" over that too, enough so to require counselling perhaps, now its fixed according to them from the left.
Thats why I said, and monkeys might...
