I'm Shocked To Hear

...that this marriage didn't last. Well, actually, I'm surprised that it lasted as long as it did.

I find it interesting that someone went to the trouble to hire a hitman to kill her. It would appear that her familiy takes honor killings seriously, wouldn't it?

I'm not at all suprised that it lasted two years, isn't that how long a marriage has to last for an immigrant spouse to keep her citizenship? Sure life as the wife of an American soldier has to be better than life as one of 4 wives to a misogynist muslim oil baron, but free and single life seems even better I guess.

I am glad the plot to kill her was foiled but after the husband threw away his military career for her freedom, he deserved a little more loyalty from her. Sometimes it's $200 and a room, sometimes it's half the assets and alimony, sometimes it's a NY Senate seat and a house in Chappaqua, and sometimes it's a green card. The rates change but the profession is still the same. The oldest one.

I wasn't surprised that it lasted two years. I was surprised that it lasted five...
