A Private Trip Around The Moon?
Jim Oberg says that it's possible. It's certainly technically doable, and a cool idea. The big question, I think, is the market at the price that it's doable for. As they point out, though, it's certainly within the capability of many governments to do it, if they just want the prestige. I'm not sure that it could be justified scientifically. Unfortunately, the Soyuz capsule is too small to fit someone like this.
[Disclosure: I've done some consulting for Constellation Services in the past, and may in the future, but I was previously unaware of this.]

This seems like a long shot at the price, and frankly, not much fun as a trip.
Though, as an intermediate, "third stage" type of space tourism following suborbital and orbital tourism, they might be onto something. That's probably 10-15 years away, though.

It would seem that they already have the heatshield designed, if they go back to the Zond design to upgrade the existing Soyuz.

If this actually happens (which unfortunately, I do not think so), what will it do to the nutcases who claim Apollo was faked? One of their major arguments is that "no human can survive passing through Van Allen belt" (or "outside Earth's magnetic field").

Hopefully, the shock of discovering their long held beliefs being proven false, they will emulate Jim Jones and company and do the world a Kool-Aid flavor favor.

Could the scramjet play a role?
