Jumbo shrimp? Fat-free half-and-half?

Flying cars will never happen, the Lord willing.

All the people I trust to operate aircraft are already operating them. They are a self-motivating, self-selecting group. The last thing I want is the sort of situation we have with 'real' cars, on 'real' roads. Imagine 15½ year-olds being granted learners' permits, or 90 year-olds having their flying-car licenses renewed.

Which doesn't mean that such a situation is what would result, or is what you intended, or that technology won't advance to the point where we could sustain kids and old people operating flying cars. I just think it will require visible evolution of the species before I am comfortable with "flying cars". I've driven on the Grapevine at dusk during a holiday.
