Crushing Dissent The Washington Post is no longer going to publish Ted Rall's vile scribblings. I'd blame John Ashcroft, but we don't have him to kick around any more. Posted by Rand Simberg at November 18, 2004 02:07 PMTrackBack URL for this entry:

Thank God. May that corrupt envious cynical sniveling evil-hearted antisocial narcissist fry in Hell and be served up on a red-hot dish with cayenne pepper and Tabasco. Aww, couldn't have happened to a nicer bag of worm sh*t. Maybe now the little rat will grow up a bit. Posted by J. Craig Beasley at November 18, 2004 04:14 PMGreat news! Yep, CJK, you're right. Having a PRIVATE-SECTOR BUSINESS stop publishing Rall's cartoons is CENSORSHIP even though there are still other publications still paying him for his dreck. And even if every publication on earth stops publishing his cartoons, he'll still be able to post them on his own website -- just like Rand is able to post his opinions here -- but in Rall's case being reduced to Rand's level means THE FIRST AMENDMENT IS BEING REPEALED. Idiot. Posted by McGehee at November 19, 2004 06:14 AMThen it can work it's way down the rest of the list..... You touch on a very good point, which is that damned list. See, while a lot of us dunderheads out here certainly appreciate the friendly warnings of the millennium which eagle-eyed Constitutional scholars and concerned fellow citizens like yourself have delivered, on something like a weekly basis, we've also fretted about the exact timing of the dreaded events. I mean, when we hear a warning like this, does it mean Fuhrer Ashcroft and his jackbooted minions will be here before or after breakfast? Is it time right now to pack up the wife and sister (and her belongings), the pack of dogs under the porch, the extra shotgun, and hit the road? Or can we attend the lynching first? It's a stress, just like those color-coded terror warning thingamabobs. But a real reliable source, probably CBS News or the NYT, has just told me via one of them mass info e-mailings that The List will soon be accessible on a revenoooer's -- I mean government website. You can register for free, or log in via MS Passport, and then find out exactly where you are on The List. So now it will be easy to figure out when They will be coming for you. Isn't our government wonderful? Anyway, my copy of the e-mail had a sneak preview of The List as an attachment. And I'm happy to report that, probably because of our general willingness to be duped by the Bush Reich, TT readers are mostly waaaay down The List, around the 600,000 mark or so. Some of us are higher than others, of course (and you already know who you are). Now, cjk, unfortunately your appreciation for the fine (dare I say nuanced?) distinction between jocular political commentary and sadistic antisocial bile makes you far more dangerous to Them. So I'm afraid you're much further up. 343,655th, just in case you want to know. Posted by Carl Pham at November 19, 2004 10:29 AMPost a comment |
