Rubbing It In

Rush Limbaugh played the full version of his theme song today. Chrissie Hynde must be spitting nails.

John Kerry and ballots coming - oops, wrong song.

Does he have to have permision to play that? What about the ASCAP payments?

I've always wondered why Ms. Hynde allows it to be used on his show.

I assume that he makes his ASCAP and BMI payments, like any other radio show, so there's little that Chrissie can do about it.

Somebody once told Rush he didn't have permission to use the song, so he stopped using it -- then he read somewhere that Chrissie Hynde didn't have a problem with it: her parents listen to Rush's show.

At least, that's how I remember it. Anyway, the matter was settled and Rush resumed using it. And having the song played an extra time on the show means more money for Chrissie.
