Interesting, but I thought that eye evolution had, at least generally, been worked out a while ago. For more information check out Ernst Mayr - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0465044255/104-9575976-1735167?v=glance
and search for 'eye evolution'. According to him, photoreceptor organs have independently evolved at least 40 times in animals.
