Usenet Problem

I just switched ISPs, and for some reason, I'm not getting any posts from the sci.space.* hierarchy on the new provider's (Bellsouth) news server. I'm using Agent as my news client. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Could you client be confusing the messages numbers on the old server with the message numbers on the new one? These numbers (as opposed to the message IDs) usually vary from server to server.

If so, a solution is to nuke your newsgroup settings and start from scratch. You'll have to mark as read all the sufficiently old messages, or else read them again.

If they are anything like my swbell nntp server host they do a horrible job of replicating the headers. I had never noticed until I got a Usenetserver.com account and realized just how out of date posts were.
