Heal...Heal! According to Drudge: John Edwards: 'When John Kerry is president, people like Christopher Reeve are going to walk. Get up out of that wheelchair and walk again'... Yes, and He shall cast the loaves upon the waters, and walk out upon them to gather up the fishes, to feed the long-suffering victims of Republican tax cuts. He shall make the blind see, and the deaf hear, and the dumb speak, and cure the afflicted of their poxen. No one will need Viagra. Feel the power! Let it course through your body! The lion shall lay down with the lamb, and the Jew with the Jihadist. Though I walk through the Valley of MOAB and PGMs and missile defense, I shall fear no evil, because The Beast in simian form, George W. Bush, will no longer be president. Testify, Brother Edwards! Testify!
[Update a few minutes later] It just occurs to me that, given Mr. Reeve's current body temperature, Senator Edwards isn't just claiming that Senator Kerry will cause the crippled to walk--he's going to raise the dead. Posted by Rand Simberg at October 12, 2004 10:02 AMTrackBack URL for this entry:

I think some scriptue is apropriate here and hopefully predictive of Kedwards November 3rd fate. "Rev. 3:15-18, "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you "Matt. 7:15-20, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits, you will know them." "If ya feel...ya HEAL!" That's a fairly obscure quote. Let's see if anyone gets it. Posted by Tim Kyger at October 12, 2004 10:47 AM"If ya feel...ya HEAL!" That's a fairly obscure quote. Let's see if anyone gets it. Posted by Tim Kyger at October 12, 2004 10:47 AMYeah, Edwards reminds me of the tele-evangelist Robert Tilton. Posted by B.Brewer at October 12, 2004 11:02 AMFar too many of the dumb are already speaking. Posted by lmg at October 12, 2004 12:05 PMScary Kerry looks like he was raised from the dead, but it didn't quite take. What they are doing with Reeve's is truly disgusting, even if Reeves was for Kerry and stem cell research. Posted by Jeff Arnall at October 12, 2004 02:14 PM
Remember "Crossing Over with John Edwards" on the Sci-Fi Channel? Posted by at October 12, 2004 11:31 PMAs a voter living in North Carolina, IF I was perdisposed to vote the Dem way, I would now be rethinking it. John Edwards is an ambulance chaser, and an opportunist. He has done nothing to help either his constituents nor his country. He has skipped votes that directly affected us here at home. Good work Senator!! If they could get Chris Reeves to walk, Edwards only interest would be to sue the horse, and tree that caused the injury, and name God as co-cause because he created them, knowing that God owns the cattle on a thousand hills. Also knowing that the horse and tree are probably not well off, being a horse and a tree.
Is Edwards the False Prophet? He doesn't seem smart enough. First he claims he has extraterrestrial allies, then that he can raise the dead. . . Posted by at October 13, 2004 11:14 AMThis is one of those cases where both sides go too far. Stem cell research isn't going to lead to instant cures. On the other hand, it is extremely important, and likely will reduce the suffering and death of living, breathing, thinking human beings. There wouldn't have been enough time for Cristopher Reeve, but that isn't the case for the thousands in the future who will suffer because of this insane restriction. VR, there is no restriction, except on federal funding. If it has this much promise, I've no doubt that private research funds can be found, and are. Posted by Rand Simberg at October 13, 2004 02:17 PMHis comments won't fly? That's super, man. Posted by at October 14, 2004 05:12 AMHallelujah! -cube Posted by cube at October 14, 2004 07:36 AMB. Brewer -- Tilton? Nah. Newcomer wannabee. You may be too young to remember Oral Roberts. Clearly Edwards isn't. Regards, No restriction *EXCEPT* Federal Funding? Leaving aside the attempts to push through an anti-cloning treaty, that is a major restriction. This is primarily basic research, an area that business tends to avoid. Unless you want to stop ALL Federal medical research money, it should be going to the areas with the greatest promise. This is one of those areas. Posted by Vr at October 19, 2004 01:33 PMLate to the party, but re: "If ya feel, ya heal"... From Greaser's Palace, a wonderfully strange movie of the early 70s.
