More First-Hand Ansari Prize Reporting
John Weidner was there with a camera. I wish I could have been.
[Update at 10 PM EDT]

The Clark Lindsey link doesn't seem to go anywhere. (Even though I see it after viewing the source, and it was interesting.)
Thanks!

I had a muse... what would happen if the White Knight which takes SS1 to 40k were exchanged for the Da Vinci projects balloon... perhaps taking it to 80k for launch?
Would it improve the SS1 final altitude any/much?

I guess this flight did not experience any of the control problems that the previous two had.
I was watching via the Xprize web's streaming video, which kept going out; probably due to so many connections. But after touchdown, no references were made to control problems for as long as I kept watching.
But I also haven't encountered any comments elsewhere about this, either.
If so, then it's good news, and confirms what SpaceShipOne people were saying after both of the previous flights, that the control problems and corkscrewing were known deficiencies. Whatever it was, they must have cleared it up for this flight!
