Frances Update Hi, I'm Bill Simon, webmaster of Transterrestrial Musing. I have just spoken with Rand and I want to let you know that Rand and Patricia are doing okay in the aftermath of Hurricane Frances. There was minimal wind damage to their home and no flooding. I am writing this because, as of this post, they are still without power and have no estimate as to when it will be back on. As such Rand's computers are down. The house is still boarded up, however, as they keep an eye on Ivan. That's it for now. Rand will post as soon as he gets a chance. Hope Rand is having fun eating strange canned food you didn't know exsited. Wait till the monkeys show up! Thanks for the update; good to know that Rand is still okay. Now Ivan is freaking me out. :-( Posted by Nathan Koren at September 6, 2004 05:04 PMFrom the news reports on power problems in Florida, I suspected that was the issue. Given half a chance, I would bet Rand would be blogging... :) Glad to hear things aren't too bad. Probably lots of mess, though. Posted by VR at September 6, 2004 05:53 PMWoo-hoo! Thanks for the update, Bill. Rand, whenever you can read this - glad you all are OK & there's not too much damage to the house. Smart move to leave everything battened down until Ivan decides where he's going. Hope you all get power back soon. I was without power for 5 days after Isabel (some were out for weeks), and it got old quick. Looking forward to your being back on the "air" again soon. Posted by Barbara Skolaut at September 6, 2004 05:59 PMMan. August in Florida with no air conditioning. I think I'd almost rather be in the hurricane. Hope you get power back soon, Rand. Posted by Dean Esmay at September 7, 2004 05:57 AMThanks for the update, Bill. Hang in there, Rand. Posted by Dave G at September 7, 2004 08:02 AMThanks for the update, Bill. Hang in there, Rand. Posted by Dave G at September 7, 2004 08:03 AMThere was mention of damage to Kennedy on Fox Monday afternoon, does someone have a link to the extent of the damage? Posted by Al at September 7, 2004 08:58 AMSince Rand isn't around for awhile, could we beat up on Jeff Bell in honor of Rand? He is asking for it today. http://www.spacedaily.com/news/oped-04y.html Posted by Mike Puckett at September 7, 2004 11:40 AMHope all is well Rand. I got power restored monday afternonn so I was only without for less than 36 hours. It helps having underground power lines. A couple of places here in Melbourne didn't lose power at all. Some people have all the luck. Post a comment |
