Kerry, Cambodia, blah, blah, blah...
Virginia Postrel posts an email with some speculation about Kerry's Cambodia story. Read it if you still give a damn. Long story short: some of the problems with the story go away if you assume Kerry confused Christmas and Tet. Read it and make up your own mind.

I read it, assumes facts not in evidence.

Yes, it's a plausible mistake, if there were any evidence whatsoever that Kerry was ever in Cambodia, at Christmas or Tet (disregarding the fact that it was "seared, seared" into his memory that it was Christmas). The only basis to believe that Kerry was in Cambodia at all is that he tells us he was. None of his crew will vouch for him.

I know those Tet presents around the Tet Tree and the Tet carolers sure make it hard to tell from Christmas some years.
Only so many shopping days left until Tet!

Up until 10 days ago, yes...
Now? I cannot be bothered to read any more apologias for Kerry. Any.

Ed Morrissey has posted on this subject. He doesn't think it was Tet, either.
