The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight
Of course, to be fair, probably few of them have any actual firearms experience, given their stance on guns...
The Kerry campaign, in response to charges that he's soft on intelligence, says that he was Vice-Chair of the Intelligence Committee. This is an assertion easily proven false. Apparently whoever came up with this gem didn't know the difference between their candidate and his former colleague, Senator Bob Kerrey.
You'd like to think that, given how much baggage from his past the Senator apparently carries, he'd hire competent people to defend his record. You'd also like to think that the people he'd hire to help run the country, if elected, would be more competent than those he's hired to run his campaign.
Unfortunately, there's sparse evidence on the ground that either of these hopes will be other than forlorn.

Oh. My. God.
Excerpt: Apparently John Kerry's campaign people have their guy confused with the other Kerr(e)y. I wonder what they'll do when they realize their mistake?

This guy is Al Gore Mk 2.0
Somebody once said John Kerry is like Al Gore without the charisma.

Still to come: John Kerry talks about his erstwhile relationship with actress Debra Winger.

Didn't Kerry invent the Internet, too?

No, but he served and defended it honorably for four months, as a Broadband Swift Packet skipper, Port 80.

I was wondering why Kerry has done such a poor job preparing for these kinds of revalations, when I realized he's stuck in a Catch-22.
1: He probably doesn't remember all the lies and exagerations he's told.
2: Even if he did, sitting down with a couple of people and telling them all the lies / exagerations / misstatements is a huge risk. What if he tells them to somebody who gets so disgusted he "defects"?
3: The kind of person who tells these kinds of lies is not the kind of person who can admit it. He's Walter Mitty, without the charm. If he was the kind of person who could tell that to someone else, he wouldn't be doing it in the first place.
4: Hiring (several) someones to do the kind of "opposition research" on himself that the blogosphere has done to him faces the same problems (#'s 2 & 3) as telling entails.
Basicly, his only hope was that the MSM could cover for him. And they can't do that anymore.
