Meltdown

If anyone doubts that the Dems have no coherent response to the Swift Boat Vets, other than ad hominem hysteria, read this CNN transcript.

If Carville was talking to me that way, I would have to go over and put something in his mouth to shut him up. I heard about that ambush and it was disgraceful.

I'm not entirely sure what anybody would expect from Crossfire. It's like expecting Bill O'Reilly not to be sarcastic on his show.

Reading the transcript, it didn't look like "ad homenem hysteria" though. Goes to show that two people can look at the same source and come away with a different impression.

I read the transcript as well, and it read a whole lot like ad hominem hysteria to me. Talk about not respecting a decorated war hero...Nothing like the bend-over-backwards to swallow everything Kerry said about what happened at all. Carville, in his hysterical ad hominem, refused to even allow for the tiniest shred of possibility that the officer succeeding Kerry in his Swift boat command could know the first thing about Kerry's service, nor that any of the men mentioned in the book could have had any knowledge whatever. What balderdash.
Great blog

Well, it's obvious that they have their attack points in order, knowing where to hit everyone. But they still refuse to answer the questions raised in the book

My personal favorite part was...

DAVIS: Name one person.

O'NEILL: I gave you, first of all, Lieutenant William Schachte, now an admiral. See, the theory of these guys...

...

DAVIS: Name another one.

I wonder how long that could have gone on. "Name another one!"

That was so weak. Definitely not a good advertisement for Crossfire. Hey watch our show where we shout at each other and nothing gets said. The show would improve immeasurably if the questions and answers were all written ahead of time and just printed on the screen. I feel embarassed for Carville and Davis.

LF, You're embarrassed for Carville and Davis?

I am embarrassed BY them.

The, so called, debate technique of constantly shouting down and talking over their opponents replies that is used by them and their colleagues is a stain on Americam politics.

Yup, I won't watch Crossfire. It is an entertainment show. It is not a serious news show. They WANT people to yell, scream, and make fools of themselves.

Posted by VR at August 13, 2004 02:00 PM

Just another example of Carville displaying his desparate need for medication.

You don't need a coherent response when the press is on your side... they do the response for you.. or bury it so you don't have to respond to it.
