A bad weekend for X Prize teams. Armadillo Aerospace lost their large test vehicle.

They had a good film clip on the local (Oakland, CA) news this morning of this explosion. The nose cone dropping into the surf was -- a bit sad, of course -- but very evocative of rocket failures of the 1950s.

My take on these problems here. (A little bit harsh on John, I know. But from his past writings, especially to s.s.p, he seemed to have a fairly large helping of clue. Somehow, he forgot that for this test sequence.)
