Misplaced Moon

I kvetch a lot about the ISS, and I do think it a misbegotten and mistaken program, but that doesn't mean that we never get anything of value from it. Like this picture.

The Space station is poorly marketed by NASA and by politicians in general.

There were supposed to be three Space Stations. The First for scientific research that could not withstand human movement (vibrations) on board. The Second would be the human outpost we see today (somewhat). The Third was to be a garage to assemble space ships.

Unfortunately, congress (and some peter principles at NASA) decided to ?help out? with the design. The station today, with two people trying to hand-crank it into stable orbit, is what came from the compromise.
