Blaming The Messenger

Liberal MPs say that strained US-Canadian relations are the fault of some Alliance MPs, because they've been writing and distributing articles pointing out anti-American positions and statements by Ottawa.

Did they think that absent such articles, we wouldn't have noticed? Don't they understand that they're now insulting our collective intelligence, and not just that of the President?

Amazing.

nope they don't care. they're playing to the gallery. only thing they care about is getting re-elected. getting tired of apologizing to america, but once more is called for - we don't all feel the way theses jerks do. we should have been with you in iraq.

The Liberals aren't in danger of losing their grip anytime soon - there aren't any nationally competitive parties, Alliance included (thanks in large part to the Alliance's poor leadership choices both in the past and present). The point is that it doesn't matter what the Liberals say or do, Paul Martin will still be the next Prime Minister. Hey, this sounds a lot like China's government...
