But He Seemed So Upbeat And Optimistic
With so much to live for, particularly with all of his new-found fame and career prospects.
Iranian newspapers are apparently reporting that Baghdad Bob aka Skippy, hanged himself last week.
And so a promising career in advertising and politics is tragically cut short.

There's hope yet. It hasn't been confirmed.
This guy so could have gotten a job as a talk show host...

Gee, weird as it is, if he only knew how many people in the West are really concerned for his fate.
I hope the story is not true.

Rand -
Being as you care for the English language (note your which v. that lecture the other week), the correct verb is "hanged" - Baghdad Bob hanged himself.
Hung certainly includes hanging by a noose, as in I hung myself up doing chores, so I was late. Or I got hung up in traffic.
Hanged is a very specific and has, I must say, Clint Eastwood-y connotations especially appropriate at this juncture.

Did he commit suicide "at the gates of Baghdad"?

I wonder.... work with me here...
Maybe he defected and joined the infidel coalition running dogs!
Thus his suicide at the gates of Baghdad, in accordance with prophesy.

As much as we all want to like him, I've read that he has been involved with all the terror his entire Ba'ath career. Otherwise, you'd have to like him strictly on the basis of his enthusiasm and loyalty. Does anybody know where the 'photoshop'-heavy website is? The one that got a FoxNews blurb this afternoon? Not the "ilovetheIraqi 9etc)" site, but, the other one?

You know, "Comical Ali" is a better nick for him than "Baghdad Bob."
