"Killer Chick"

For those who think that everyone at Free Republic is a knuckle-dragging troglodyte, here's an interesting thead about a woman pilot of a Warthog, who is admired by most, and the one who whines about women in combat is firmly put in his (or her, though unlikely) place.

I don't think women belong in certain combat arms positions, for some fairly obvious reasons, but in the modern military there are all sorts of combat and combat-support roles they can fill perfectly well. Pilots being one of them. Indeed, they probably tend to make superior pilots. Just as they tend to be exceptionally good marksmen.

Maybe this is old news but check this link:

An interview with Capt Campbell after her incident - as well as with her father who is a San Jose, CA City Councilman.

The sad part is the AirForce is planning to replace the A-10 with the joint strike fighter. I doubt things would have gone as well for her if she had been in a JSF. Progress... ok well I guess LockMart needs the cash.

Someone appears to be misinformed, the life of the A10 has been extended to 2028. The JSF is not a "suitable sub" for the hawg. I sincerly doubt that the Air Force nor the Army (grunts love hawgs) will let it go any time soon.
