More Chickens Coming Home To Roost
The Baseball Hall of Fame was going to commemorate the fifteenth anniversary of the movie "Bull Durham" this month, with invitations to its stars, but has decided to cancel the ceremony because of lead actors Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins' outspoken anti-war statements.
More "McCarthyism" and "censorship," I guess.
Cheer up, guys--after all, there'd be nothing "brave" about your idiotic antics if you suffered no consequences for them.

did you notice rob neyer's description of this move as "simple-minded idiocy." evidently he's in agreement that freedom of speech trumps freedom of association, unless the speech is by someone with a brain.

Bull Durham is my favorite baseball movie. I wish I didn't know about Susan and Tim. But then I wish I never learned of what Joe DiMaggio was like as a person. It affects my ability to love and appreciate the movie. What jackasses!

So Mr. Petroskey is supposed to be somehow compelled to allow this anniversary commemoration to go on, and to be hosted by raving liberals who are more interested in backstabbing Bush than celebrating baseball?
I'll bet that Mr. Neyer is one of those "I oppose the war but I support the troops" types. Two-faced, backstabbing, !$#@%

It is a shame that such a terrific movie included such noxious types as stars, but talent and intelligence are not correlated.
In Neyer's defense, he's a vet who served his time. I don't know what he thinks about the war, but I have no trouble listening to people who've served offering their opinions.
