Interesting read, Rand. I wish he'd covered some of the more disturbing issues with biotech crops, things like the decreasing genetic diversity of corn, sterile corn, and so on.

He also slipped "stem cell" research under the radar which doesn't raise as many hackles in Europe as in the US.

All that said, I must admit I do prefer buying my food from the local farmers market than the supermarket - eggs and meat certainly taste better direct - and the veg, while often not as pretty to look at, is better too. But I suppose the problem is seasonal food soon gets boring.
