Mikhail Gorbachev says we must "end this bloodbath" in Iraq.
Actually, Mickey, that's exactly what we're doing--ending a multi-decade bloodbath. Funny, though, I don't ever recall hearing calls from you to Saddam to end any bloodbaths. Maybe I just missed them?

Gorby's anti-war efforts in 1990-91 closely preceded the final collapse of the USSR.

I like how he compares this to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Perhaps he should compare it to the American invasion of Afghanistan.
Oh, wait, that wouldn't support his argument, if you can call it such...
