What Is The Sound Of One Hand Wringing?

I dunno, and I'm not likely to find out--there are too many of them on the news channels right now.

What is the affinitive noun for them, anyway? How about this--a despair of wringing hands.

Since the hand-wringers are generally contemptuous of the abilities of the coalition forces to:

A. Plan for the conduct of the war.
B. Avoid civilian casualties.
C. Do anything at all well.

may I suggest "a pooh-pooh of wringing hands"?

I think it gets the flavor right, so to speak.
