It's not just Patty Murray. Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur is now equating Osama bin Laden to the Founding Fathers.

"One could say that Osama bin Laden and these non-nation-state fighters with religious purpose are very similar to those kind of atypical revolutionaries that helped to cast off the British crown," Miss Kaptur said.

You know, like George Washington, and Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson, and all those other religious fanatics who murdered men, women and children by the buildingload to impose Christianity on the world.

Do these people ever listen to what they say?

She has some helpful advice, per the usual:

The Catholic tradition calls for embracing the poor and the dispossessed, Miss Kaptur said. Rather than initiating military action, the United States should try to counter the poverty and repression that breed terrorism in the Mideast.

Not to imply that those conditions are what breed terrorism, but that's exactly what we're doing, Marcy. Once Saddam is gone, repression will be immensely relieved, as will poverty, in Iraq.

Augh! Why are these people so stupid?!?!? How do they put their clothes on? Does someone have to feed them lest they try to pour coffee in their ears? Grrr...

She should really talk to those folk that loudly proclaim the agnostic nature of our Founding Fathers whenever the Church/State issue comes up. I would take a guess that she knows one or two. Christ, at least try to keep a consistent argument across issues. It just makes you look silly.

I hope she fires the aide who wrote that speech for her.

Monty what a ridiculous thing to say!!! This is a situation where they should truly kill the messenger NOT the message writer. She is the moron on this, and she must really feel that way or she wouldn't have made the statements. Or worse she is a talking puppet for someone else and will say whatever she is told. Then again, I'm not sure which would be worse.

Your willing to let this jerkette off the hook by blaming the speech writer and that is exactly what is wrong with this country right now. Very few people take ANY personal responsibility for their actions or words. And even fewer people will hold the truly responsible up for ridicule when it is called for!!

Makes one wonder how people like this get elected. Gods, please tell me this delusion of intelligence isn't from Texas...
