Iraq Glossary Update

Based on this article from the news agency that can't call a terrorist a terrorist, I have to add a couple new (synonymous) phrases to the glossary.

"unilateral" or "on their own":

Taking action with a large number of nations in a coalition, but without Kofi Annan's permission.

I disagree with your definition of unilateral. My definition is "Taking actions I disagree with". Of course multilateral means "Taking actions I agree with".

Annan hates his personal irrelevance to the momentous matters at hand. He's Secretary-General of the United Nations, fer crissake, which is nominally the international forum for resolving conflicts without going to war. Of course, the trivial fact that it functions almost entirely as a podium from which tinpot tyrants can rant about "American imperialism" and try to prevent Israel from defending herself has nothing at all to do with our disdain towards it, right?

But one must always expect seekers after power to present a self-serving argument for their own legitimacy. Kofi Annan is no exception. I hesitate to recall it to mind, but does anyone here remember the November 2000 PR machinations of a certain Albert Gore?
