My friend (and drug warrior) Iain Murray has been impressed with UCLA Professor Mark Kleiman's past takes on the dangers of the Evil Weed.
I suspect that he won't be as thrilled with this post from his new blog. Or this one...

Kleiman's comments are right on, especially his comment about how lying to the public ought to be a crime.
The goverment keeps dragging out the same tired lies, not realizing or caring that anyone who has ever smoked grass knows it is total bull. I think this dishonesty is largely responsible for the skepticism of many Americans. If they lie about grass, what else are they lying about eh?

Well, I somehow doubt that there's all that big a chunk of the American public that's measuring government honesty according to what it says about marijuana...

Actually, I must disagree here. Given that an early experience of a significant minority of young adults is "I smoked marijuana and it didn't do what the teacher said it would." It is a pretty flimsy argument that most people outgrow, but it's there.
