I'm Just Shocked
Margaret Carlson said on the Capital Gang this weekend that Hillary is running for president, and that she just left cleat marks on Andrew Cuomo's back.
Actually I'm not being sarcastic. I am shocked.
Not that Hillary would do such a thing, but that Margaret Carlson would remove her lips from Hillary's keester long enough to actually admit it.
We'll see how long she stays angry. Don't expect it to last beyond the time that Hill actually wins the Democratic Party nomination...

Rand, do you read much Harry Turtledove? If so, you may understand when I compare Hillary with Jake Featherston.
I just finished reading Blood and Iron...

No, not much. The only one that I can recall is "The Guns Of The South."

When Hillary wins the nomination? That would be the day before Hell freezes over.
Well actually that's not entirely true, they might let her run in '04 if the war and the economy make GW look unbeatable and the real candidates decide to wait for '08, but say she does get the nomination, name me one state that Gore didn't carry that Hillary would?

I didn't say that she'd win the election--just the nomination. The people who nominate candidates for the Dems tend to be much further to the left than most of the voters. I think that it's quite possible that she could win the nomination, even in 2008.

Kevin, I disagree. Jake Featherstone actually believed his philosophy, however disgusting it was. As far as I can tell, Hillary believes in nothing except power.
I can't think of any Turtledove's character - in any book, - as unprincipled as Hillary Clinton.

Ilya, I'll concede your point, though I'd believe Hillary's true philosophy has somewhat in common with Featherston's.
