Our esteemed former president was on Letterman last night, on the night of September 11 (what were they thinking?). I watched the first few minutes, and I was most intrigued by what I *didn't* see or hear. When Mr C came onstage, the camera didn't pan out over the audience, and the applause I heard was polite. No one whistled or cheered. My impression was that the music was turned up a little louder to cover the relative lack of applause. He made one joking remark to start with, but no one laughed much. After Dave's first couple of questions seemed to be softballs, I quit watching. Did I miss anything? If so, I hope someone will post it here.
