Poetic Justice

You can't make this stuff up.

A grizzly sow mauled a group of PETA members hiking in Yellowstone.

She's obviously not a member of BETH (Bears for the Ethical Treatment of Humans). Or then again, perhaps she is...

Talk about biting the had that feeds you. Or is it biting the hand that is trying to keep you from becoming feed?

On second though, bears eat fish, PETA is trying to stop fishing, maybe they're smarter than we realize ;-)

Haha, I like that part about the fish. :)

BETH: Bears Eating Tasty Humans

Posted by Steve at August 30, 2002 05:48 AM

Considering what happened, I think you should be a little more sensitive. A violent encounter like that could be very traumatic for the bear.

Maybe Cleveland Amory was merely being prescient with his slogan "support you right to arm bears".

Posted by Ken Summers at August 30, 2002 07:00 AM

No surprise. Rocky Mountain bears are known to vote Republican.

Well you know something like that just happend a few weeks ago here in Arizona. Hungery bear comes out of the woods and starts to naw on a sleeping campers head. Luckly the camper was not a gun nut and had a pistol beside his sleeping bag. Now he has a very cool looking scar that he can tell his grandkids about and a nice new bear skin rug.

Ummmmmm........ excuse me......... I don't see anything in the article that states that the hikers were members of PETA. PETA may or may not deserve my ridicule for other matters, but I see nothing that indicates PETA presence in this incident.

Hmmm...I guess you're right. It said "animal rights activists," and I inferred PETA, but it indeed doesn't say that explicitly. It's still ironic, however.

I don't care which association she was from, I was hungry and they were tasty young morsels just serving themselves up on a silver platter to me. Sorry, what was I supposed to do? I'm a hungry wild grizzly bear!!!
