Hey, anybody remember that nuclear war we were about to have in south Asia a few weeks ago? It's not even on the media radar screen any more.

This surprises you? Musharraf is sane, if we had had a democratic Pakistan then I'd be worried. Of course democracy never wage war on each other, and if they do we will redefine the word democracy so at least one of the countries that did was not democratic.

And has the Press bothered to give the Bush admin any credit for defusing a nuclear nightmare scenario? (a la cuban missle crises)

Somehow, good news is seen as no news.
This is really wonderful news.

Nevertheless, this success, the step back from the brink, is not a solution, and the problem deserves unflagging attention.
Both nations are basically sane - but so were
the great powers of Europe in 1914...
