One Down, One To Go

Here's another one for the stupid criminal tricks file--he didn't get eaten by a crocodile, but here's a guy who lost an arm in escaping from handcuffs. He can only do that trick one more time, then they'll have to cuff one of his legs. If it continues, it could end up like Monty Python's Black Knight.

"All right, this time it goes around your neck, you stupid git."

Obviously, this poor fellow needed to have a hands-up, not a hand out.

No, obviously it is the fault of the police for allowing him to escape, and then not promptly recapturing him so that he was forced to try to remove the handcuffs, thus endangering his arm and his life. He should consult a lawyer. It is precisely analogous to that escapee in Maine some months back (a judge threw that one out of court; no doubt the 9th Circuit would have protected his rights better).

Oh, and the train should have a prominent warning label.
