Right Actions, Wrong Reasons
Well, we finally have some prominent Palestinians (including Peter Jennings girlfriend, Ms. Ashrawi) condemning the murderous terror attacks. But even when some of them finally do the right thing, they still can't do it for the right reason.
Ghassan Khatib, who headed the think tank and was recently named Labor Minister, said the modest decline in support for bombings was due to three reasons: international criticism of the Palestinians, the damage done to the Palestinian image by the bombings, and the consequences for the Palestinians, including Israel's military responses.
But no decline in support because they're morally odious? Because it's evil to deliberately drive nails into babies, often head first?
No, they just think it's a bad idea because it's counterproductive, and makes them look bad. What a sick, sick culture.

Rand, as a non-Jewish person, I must ask:
What the F&$# is Israel waiting on???
I keep hearing about 'Israeli agreession' day in and day out by the Arab and liberal talking heads...all I see is Israel getting picked off a dozen citizens at a time.
Is Israel going silently into the night? On what are they waiting??????

Something that Instapundit hasn't mentioned is that it looks like the Israelis are taking a page from the UThant.com peace plan.

Seems the "former UN Secretary" was ahead of the curve. Advantage Blogosphere!

At the rate of 20 square miles per citizen... the total would have been allocated by now (although it was an impressive call.) What do you do after you've got it? How do you identify a terrorist before they attack?
This new focus on attacking buses...

...may up the death ratio.
The new Tom Cruise movie is supposed to be about preventing crimes before they happen, but that's science fiction. Some christians refer to this as reading the heart. What solution is humanly possible against this kind of threat?
Have we reached (or are we soon going to reach) a tipping point in which no action will be capable of reducing the violence (that is far reaching, not just in Israel.)
Will the violence of tomorrow make today look like the good old days?
