Senator John Kerry of Massachussetts will no Republican challenger. He'll be running against a Libertarian.

Why would a republican bother to run in MA. The repubs are probably sponsoring the Libertarian!

Actually, Repubicans (at least in name) can run and win in Massachussetts, as long as they don't run against a Kennedy. They regularly have (liberal) Republican governors.

There is another word for the kind of Republican liberal enough can get elected in The Great State of Kennedy. That word is, 'Democrat'.

I thought the word for them was RINO: Republican In Name Only. Mayor John Lindsay of New York was the archtype.
