All it takes is to be a Type VI civilization.

Is This Awesome?
Or just…wrong? I double dare whoever did this to make a bacon Mohammed.
More Bristol Derangement Syndrome
Well, at least these people didn’t shoot their television:
“I … believe that the program was fixed by extreme supporters of the Tea Party and Radical Right-Wing,” wrote one viewer. “There is no disclaimer that it is a political show, and instead that is what it has become. It is tragic to say that it could have been fixed but I hope ABC’s ratings blow-up and go down in flames.”
“You need to investigate the fraudulent voting practice on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars,” another viewer complained.
A third viewer protested that DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba’s hugging of Bristol Palin was “unfair treatment” that “was a signal for GOP/Tea Party supporters of Sarah Palin to ‘stuff’ the vote for Bristol Palin.”
“My 96 year old Mother-in-Law can dance better than Ms. Palin,” continued the viewer. “I want my Government to protect me the viewer from deceptive practices.”
Actually, I prefer the television abuser to people who want the federal government to regulate what I watch. Time to rein in the FCC.
Young Earth Creationists In Kentucky
…are mocked. At Free Republic.
Speaking Of Multi-Culturalism
I’m going to pop some corn. It’s the Westboro Baptist Church versus the Dearborn Islamic Center.
Place your bets, folks.
First It’s Cartoons
And now this:
Prominent Muslim religious heads have expressed anger and dismay on the information of a US dog being named ‘Khan.’ Maulana Syed Athar Ali said that it is a known fact that Muslims detest pigs and dogs.
“To name a dog a Muslim name by US security agencies is to deliberately incite the Muslim community. We would be meeting soon and devise a strategy to protest and seek apology from the US,” said Maulana Athar Ali.
Yes, of course. It was a deliberate act of provocation. And just how angry are they? This angry.
Hey, it’s a religion of peace. Or so they say.
A Pressing Theological Question
Is it perverse, and even immoral, to brine pork chops with kosher salt?
Weird Campaign Sign
We were driving through San Anselmo this morning on our way back to LA from Stinson Beach, and I saw a sign that said:
Behar
Water Board
I have to confess that my immediate thought was “Waterboard Joy Behar? Someone after my own heart.” But after seeing several more of them, and realizing that this was the heart of Marin County (where she’s probably a heroine), I finally figured out that someone (else) named Behar was running for the board that oversees local water issues.
British Career Women
There is something very strange going on here. I think that it’s probably a result of the increasing secularization of British (and European) society, in which the traditional religions have made themselves increasingly irrelevant.
[Update a few minutes later]
Mohammed (in its various spellings) is now the most popular boy’s name in Britain.
Uh oh.
Anachronism?
This is a pretty weird story. Was a time traveller captured on film in 1928?
