Unpopular opinion (which I’ve probably expressed here before): Dune is the most overrated book in SF. And the sequels were terrible.
On a sad note, I recently decided to finally pick up The Cat Who Walks Through Walls, which has been on the bookshelf for decades (paperback), and read it. I couldn’t get more than a few pages in. Heinlein really needed an editor in his later years.
A new record, amidst the quarantine. I wonder what the average speed was? I hadn’t realized that it ended at the Portofino. That’s just two or three miles from our house.
I was chatting with a friend of mine recently and the topic of gun sales came up. My friend’s father owns a gun range near me and she said he’s seen a huge amount of liberals coming in to purchase weapons in recent weeks.
How does he know they’re liberals?
“They’re shocked to discover they can’t just walk out of the store with a gun.”
We’ve all heard about gun sales skyrocketing recently, but I hadn’t considered some of the tangential effects of the phenomenon until I spoke to my friend. But they were told by all the smartest people how easy it was!
This may be entertaining, but the notion that the purpose of the Space Force is to go back to the moon is a false premise. But of course, now everyone will think that it is, because they saw it on a teevee show.
She was the only person in that mess who told the truth, or showed any integrity, and she paid a societal price for it. She was brutalized by the Clinton-worshipping media, and the “comedians” on SNL.
This is a reminder that we really need an early-detection capability for pancreatic cancer.
