In contrast, it is interesting if not surprising to see progressives attempt to blame Trump. It is a bit to obvious that it wasn’t Trump that cut the LAFD budget and demanding another $49 million in cuts the week before the fires and then hoping a taxpayer funded plane to party in Ghana. It wasn’t Trump that decided to drain the reservoir used for fire protection during the dry season to do cosmetic updates to the facility. It isn’t Trump that has ordered out of state fire engines to undergo a DOT inspection in Sacramento before they can assist in putting out the fires (I wonder if California requires trucks from Mexico to go through similar inspections). It certainly wasn’t Trump 2 years ago donating LAFD excess equipment to Ukraine.
In a civilized society, those who did those things would be protested and hounded until they left office. In a less civilized society, they would be dragged out of office, forced to watch as their homes were destroyed, and then punished physically such that others would get the message not to do what they did.
