  1. Shadow Election. If we want to rid the country of fraud we need billionaires to conduct shadow elections using strict id controls. If their auditable voluntary shadow elections provide statistically significant difference from the general election we’d have the red flag we need to legislate badly needed election reform. Otherwise our fraudulent election system will continue to self-lick the ice cream. Vote in CA without ID? Why shouldn’t we all fly to CA to vote there as well as at home? Overseas ballots without address verification? Maybe I’m not reading these news stories correctly. I hope not.

          Yes. I am greatly afraid you may be right. And the (massive) civil unrest caused by such will be labeled as caused by Trump’s not accepting the “free”, “fair”, “just” results of said election. Still wondering what will happen on/about the 18thNov’24 when judge merchan sentences Trump. Trump will likely be required to be present for such. Betting on a jail sentence (and wouldn’t rule out his insisting on Trump’s immediate incarceration because he is a “flight risk”); remember Governor DeSantis’s promise that Florida wouldn’t honor an extradition order from NY to Florida for Trump. Especially if it looks like Trump won the election by Nov 18th; Merchan would then be perceived as the last, best chance to prevent Trump from becoming the next President.

  2. I don’t understand this language about “this will be the last election.” It might be the last free election, or the last fair election, but even Putin holds elections. I wish they’d be a little more precise about what they’re claiming.

    To be clear, I am gravely concerned about the erosion in our ability to ensure a fair election without fraud and cheating. But it just undermines the argument to claim something that’s patently untrue.

      1. You could call it a reasonable view that neither candidate is good for the country. How far back do you have to go to get a candidate that you were actually voting FOR instead of against they other?

    SpaceX and @TMobile have been given emergency special temporary authority by the @FCC to enable @Starlink satellites with direct-to-cell capability to provide coverage for cell phones in the affected areas of Hurricane Helene.

      1. Power is being restored in places, roads are being cleaned and temporary bridges are being built. It took centuries to build the infrastructure, it’s not going to all be fixed next week, but the crews are out there doing amazing work.
