I’m no fan of America’s public schools, but a cautionary note is in order. Many other factors changed over the same timespan. Among the potentially most impactful: the migration from rural farm life to the cities. Children on farms spent far more time working alongside their parents and siblings. In the cities parents worked outside the home and were unable to have their children with them.
I stopped taking it seriously when I got to the digression on vaccines.
