Expecting the launch license this week, but no guarantees of that.

I wonder if there’s a short window of opportunity between issuance of the FAA license and a court injunction issued for Sierra Club. Maybe that’s why the launch window opens at Midnight Sun/Mon. Give them a few hours to get it off the ground before the judge bangs his gavel. That way FAA is off the hook and puts the onus on SpaceX. No one would blame Holy Mother Sierra Club.
I don’t think too much to worry about vis-a-via the Texas courts. I did a search on the Sierra Club and their joining in a lawsuit by Brownsville locals, claiming the Boca Chica Beach closures by SpaceX were unconstitutional based on the Texas State Constitution. The initial lawsuit was thrown out by a Texas state District Court, but that ruling is under appeal, dating from July 28th of last year. I haven’t been able to find anything more recent than that. And in the appeal, SpaceX is not even mentioned.
Catch-22 a launch site can not be built “too close to civilization” and that makes it “unspoiled Nature” that must be preserved. Preserved with Other Peoples Money™ naturally. I would have some sympathy with the Sierra Club position if they bought the properties they were so happy to deny other people from using.

I have no sympathy for Sierra Club; they left their original vision behind long ago.
However, a lot of the land they’re protesting about is federal land, particularly in the western States. It can’t be bought.
Given the complexity of this ginormous rocket packed with new technology, there’s a high chance of launch delays and aborts. Once they commit, the results will be spectacular one way or the other. It could be a catastrophic failure like N1’s attempts, or a spectacular success like the first Falcon Heavy, or anything in between. I can hardly wait!
