Thoughts on the classified leaks and the coming offensive in Ukraine.

I suspect the fact it is even being talked about reduces the possibility of the NRO, Sentient being real.
Remember the unveiling of the F117 prior to the 1980s Gulf War? Yep, neither do I. The first we heard about the 1st Gen Stealth Plane was after their use to take out ADA systems.

You must not have been paying close attention, then. It’s existence was announced prior to the Gulf War. Indeed, it’s combat debut was prior to the Gulf War in Panama.

There was a public unveiling in 1988 and then in 1989 it was first used in Panama. Desert Storm/Desert Shield wasn’t until 1990/1991.
“DARPA awarded Skunk Works with the contract for the Nighthawk less than a year after Have Blue’s successful first flight in 1977, and a legendary partnership between the Skunk Works team and the U.S. Air Force quickly made F-117 production a reality. The first flight took place in 1981 just 31 months after the contract award, and deliveries began the following year.
The aircraft achieved initial operational capability in 1983 but was kept under the strictest of secrecy for many years. It wasn’t until 1988 that the program was publicly acknowledged, and not until 1990 that it made its first formal public appearance. By this time, the aircraft had been operational for seven years.”
There were accidents involving the F-117 in the mid and late 1980s before the plane’s widely speculated existence was officially revealed. After one accident (I think it was in 1987), there was an article that read, “If a plane that doesn’t exist crashes in a forest, does it make a sound? Not if the Air Force can help it.” There were airplane spotters who tracked C-5s landing at Lockheed’s facilities in Burbank at night with all their lights out, presumably to pick up a new stealth aircraft to deliver to Groom Lake. A stealth fighter played a role in Tom Clancey’s book, “Red Storm Rising”, but it wasn’t an accurate description. The stealth fighter speculation was a cottage industry jof sorts, with the “F-19” model airplane being perhaps the best example. Jimmy Carter had revealed the existence of the SAP classified stealth program in 1980 in a failed attempt to show that he wasn’t soft on defense.
Yes, I did bad quick math, I hate getting old, time is all running together.
I was stationed at Ft. Polk as a Co Cdr and Bn S3for both the Panama and Desert Shield/Storm Ops – the 1990/91 time frame is accurate.
My real point is DoD doesn’t release anything until they want to – and, there is already a replacement better than what is currently available.
Martial arts expert, you ask? Why yes, I know judo, aikido, karate and several other Japanese words!
I think the Biden Administration’s approach to intel security is similar to Colonel Flagg’s. By keeping themselves completely confused at all times, the enemy can’t extract any useful intelligence out of them.
