Doing it in mice and ferrets is good, but now let’s try it with humans. I’d volunteer (I have to get a root canal this afternoon).

A number of years back, I read an article about a treatment being tested to help wounded soldiers regrow bone and they found it regrew teeth. Never heard anything else about it again, just like so many of these pop culture reports.
Like Wednesday, I read an article a number of years back about a new kind of implant, 3d printed using a binding agent and powdered, de-proteined pig bone. The implant would be the scaffolding of a tooth, which is then painted with the patient’s own stem cells and inserted. Six months later the implant is a real tooth.
