…seems to play a role in coronavirus response. I take supplements, but the cruel irony of the stay-at-home orders is that, for many, it makes it hard for the body to produce it naturally.

In a study of hospital patients, “Vitamin D status is significantly associated with clinical outcomes (p75 nmol/L) 25(OH)D levels. Conversely only 2 of the 48 critical patients had ‘normal’ (>75 nmol/L) 25(OH)D levels.”

Let’s try that again.

From Hell’s heart I stab at thee, WordPress. I can only suggest one Read the Whole Thing.
Don’t you live in socal? Just sit in a chair in the yard for an hour a day. You body will produce all the vitamin D you will need.
So far as I know, Governor Newsom has only given Californians permission to view the sunrise and sunset, when UV levels would likely be too low to stimulate much vitamin D production.
Apparently you get vitamin D when sun is about 45 degree above the horizon. And can get enough in less than 1/2 hour- assuming you enough skin exposed. If tanned or dark skin it requires more time.
You shouldn’t be trying to get a tan and getting sunburn is a bad.
But I guess if sun is around 30 degrees or higher, you get vitamin D if spent more time in sun, but sunset/sunrise you aren’t getting any. And sunscreen will [obviously}prevent you getting Vitamin D.
Note that the stay at home orders are now obviously dangerous – people need to get out in the sun, not stay at home.
I thought it would be something like this – the death rate here in Hawaii is less than half what is expected, while New York, Chicago, etc are hit harder than most. My first thought was weather, and Vitamin D is merely a subset of weather.
according to Grusome, one simply cannot be outside (say, at the beach) even though you may be socially distancing (paddleboarding, fishing, running)….it’s just tooooooo dangerous.
We’ve been taking megadoses ever since reading about its beneficial effects.
Yes, this is unfortunately the case where the cure has been worse than the disease (hoax). As of today, more people in the US have died from the quarantine orders than the COVID-19 virus!! (source Epoch Times). The Democrats and CCP need to pay for this!
