I wonder if Huntsville and other space museums are scrambling to eventually acquire some of these test vehicles or whether they have a “not invented here” attitude?
Given Huntsville’s proximity to MSFC and ULA, there might be some pushback to getting SpaceX artifacts but I can only hope that can be overcome. SpaceX likely has a previously flown, low mileage early booster and perhaps a cargo Dragon capsule available for display. Perhaps even a Merlin engine and other artifacts. I live in Huntsville and have been to the Space and Rocket Center many times. It could use some new displays.
George, it’s their own vehicles that are the museum pieces.
SpaceX is certainly cranking out the test articles. Along as there is no RUD there should be plenty to go to a museum or two.
Yeah, but SpaceX’s vehicles are cheaper to fly than put in a museum.
