I have never understood this hatred of Jews. What on earth could motivate it?
They have money that other people want.
It began in the Middle Ages when the church forbid the collecting of usury (interest). The Jews where asked to setup banks to help the economy as people were very willing to pay to borrow money. The Jews made lots of money and have been in trouble every since.

There are people who like to hurt others. They find that stirring up Jew hatred gives them people to hurt without consequence. This same kind people stir up hate against any group they can for the same reason.
