Will it be Grandpa Simpson?
It seems to me that the Democrats are screwed this cycle, which is ironic, considering who they’re trying to defeat.

If Biden were elected President, he would be older when first inaugurated than any President in history has been when leaving office. That includes President Trump (even if he won a second term).
In the 1980 election, Ronald Reagan’s ripe old age of 69 was hyped into an issue, and in 1984 his age of 74 was seen as an absolute disaster for the Republic (by the Democrats). He was 77 when he left office on January 20, 1989, and turned 78 on February 6, 1989.
Joe Biden will be 78 on November 20, 2020. Where is the consternation over his ability to fulfill the duties of the President at that age? It is unprecedented in United States history. Are we willing to risk the Republic on such a thing?
Democrats are a collective. They have thousands of people ready to step in and do the job they want done. A lot could get done with some clueless dotard as the figurehead and he would also be the perfect fall guy. “I don’t recall.” would actually be taken seriously.
California re-elected Jerry Brown when he was 76, and Democrats count on California’s electoral votes in any presidential election.
Too much so in 2016, but still…
Actually, if Biden were to take office on Jan. 20, 2021 he would be 159 days younger than Donald Trump will be when he leaves office on Jan. 20, 2025. The general point, though, still very much stands.
