The word I get from the Web is that they are getting more expensive.
It seems to be more common now for restaurant chains and franchisers to be owned by private equity firms, which one would expect to want greater short-term profitability.
Sure, cost of labor and regulations are going up. They are sensitive to the price of food too. Your typical fast food chain operates on some slim margins.
