Seth Tillman has some words for John McWhorter.
While Trump is not my cup of tea, and I don’t know if he’s actually ever even read a book, let alone written one, policy is more important than writing skill. BTW, I came up with another feature of both Trump and Obama that their supporters don’t recognize: They both love dictatorial thugs, just different ones. And here’s another, because I don’t think that Obama writes much, either (and I’m quite certain that the first book was ghost written, probably by Ayers).
policy is more important than writing skill.
Particularly when the writing doesn’t prevent the message from being received.
Alas, Obama also likes walls. Obama shutdown the government too. Both Obama and Trump seem apathetic to NASA. Both had parents born in another country (I would say emigrant parents, but I can’t really say that Obama’s father immigrated to the US).
Notice that while both Presidents had shutdowns, Trump went out of his way to make it less painful on the populace while Obama went out of his way to make it more painful on the populace. The media also sided with the Democrats in both cases.
I don’t know if Trump is apathetic to NASA. Aside from SLS, NASA is taking a revolutionary approach to near term operations. That Trump doesn’t micromanage NASA isn’t necessarily a sign of neglect.
2020 is going to be a big year in space. Who thinks it will be a campaign topic?
He’s not my cup of tea (or covfefe) either, but by God he’s breaking up the toxic political equilibrium in Washington like tree roots in rock, only faster.
I don’t know what new equilibrium would be likely to take its place, but nothing can change while the current one still rules.
Safe to assume he has read a book before. Why even assume otherwise? Personal dislike is fine, but it should also be a little rational.
The same people worried Trump will start nuclear wars are also worried that by not insulting people means that he “loves” dictators. To me, it looks like Trump’s actions toward world leaders hinge on how those actions benefit America’s interests. There is no way to satisfy the test above because it isn’t meant to be passed. It is set up to always find a way that Trump is dangerous. Its like gullible warming. Too much rain, too much snow, too much sun, or too much normal weather its all gullible warming.
Trump dances with those who brung him.
