Maybe I should start taking it:
“If we consider our results and then we also consider what results have been achieved in clinical trials with cystic fibrosis patients, we are probably looking at the same mechanism(s), whereby antibiotics are removing inflammatory senescent cells and boosting healthy ones.
“Undoubtedly, our results have significant implications for potentially alleviating or reversing tissue dysfunction and slowing the development of many ageing-associated diseases,” explains Professor Federica Sotgia, a co-lead of this study.
Yes, undoubtedly.
Please do – I like to have lots of human trial experience before I take some newfangled drug. 🙂
More inexpensive treatments for aging would be very welcome.
You’d have to reach 100 micro molar concentration in serum, which would require a fairly large dose. One gram doses for COPD only produce levels in lung tissue of about 25 micro molar concentration. See doi: 10.1038/srep28698 “Azithromycin induces anti-viral effects in cultured bronchial epithelial cells from COPD patients” for example discussion.
So the question is, will a single 4x dose cause other toxic effects in a healthy ~60 year old?
