Forty questions about it. Meanwhile, Mueller just had a really bad day in court.

Will there be a plea reversal in the Flynn case? If so, it could be more bad news for Team Mueller.

Name the committed crime that begat the investigation?
Suspicion of intent to collude. There, done it.
Sorry, I’m unfamiliar with the statute regarding collusion. Care to cite the statute?
There isn’t one. There, done it.
The statue is a tricky one. Much like the Logan Act, we have to look at the parties involved to see if there is a violation. It is really more about following precedents than the actual language.
For example, a member of the Trump transition team setting up contacts with foreign governments is a violation of the Logan Act because we only have one President at a time. However when John Kerry meets with Iranian officials to strategize how foreign governments can use international institutions and media to save the Iran deal, its not a violation because the only President whose actions are legitimate is Obama.
I don’t know why people get so hung up on the law and trying to understand legalese. Its so easy.
The crime was having Putin arrange pee parties with Russian hookers, just like that troll on 4chan said. We have John McCain’s credibility backing those allegations, too! The seriousness of these deplorable crimes cannot be overstated! Stop laughing!
“Name the committed crime that begat the investigation?”
Yeah that is the key right there. There is supposed to be a core crime that motivates the investigation; “collaborating with Russia to influence the 2016 election” is not a crime, no matter how many times the Mueller investigation and the complicit main stream media behave like it is.
Well, it sure as hell oughtta be! However, that act seems to have been performed by the Clinton campaign, rather than the Trump.
And the collusion never happened. Obama was monitoring the Trump campaign in real time. Mueller and the IC already know everything. Had there been a there there, Trump would have been frog marched before he was sworn in.
The closest thing to collusion was the meeting with the Russian lawyer but it appears she was also working for Fusion GPS, the DNC and Hillary campaign when she set up the meeting.
“The closest thing to collusion was the meeting with the Russian lawyer but it appears she was also working for Fusion GPS, the DNC and Hillary campaign when she set up the meeting.”
And of course having a meeting with someone Russian or otherwise isn’t in and of itself a crime….to say nothing of the essential point that “colluding with the Russians to influence the election” isn’t in and of itself a crime.
I would say obstruction … easiest one to just toss out there..
Yes, obstruction is an easy one to toss out. Not sure why Democrats think there is something there.
My favorite is… “Conspiracy to Commit [fill in the blank]”,
followed closely by “Misstatements to a Federal Official” who, by the way, can lie to you.
The idea of Trump obstructing justice for lawfully firing Comey is the equivalent of trying Rick Perry for lawfully vetoing legislation sent to him. We will see what the Judge in the Manafort case thinks about the Special Counsel jurisdiction.
2.) Peter Strzok was removed from your team after more than 10,000 texts between him and fellow team member Lisa Page were found to contain vitriolic anti-Trump tirades.
Strzok was not removed until the IG pointed this out. IOW, Mueller was fine with the conflict of interest until it became a problem with an IG. But everyone else on his team and even Mueller himself all have deep conflicts of interest that should prevent them from participating. This is especially true since the investigation was generated through fraud.
Mueller was an important figure the Obama administration who was complicit in many of Obama’s scandals. He even neutered the IG’s ability to conduct investigations. If Trump had done that, there would be riots and endless media freakouts by the same people who cheered Obama on.
“But everyone else on his team and even Mueller himself all have deep conflicts of interest that should prevent them from participating.”
Totally. If the investigation were meant to be serious it would have been assigned to people from far outside the Beltway.
Since Comey’s own memo shows that Trump wanted him to investigate possible Russian influence in the campaign it is now clear that there never should have been a special counsel.
It really would be great to see an actual investigation into Russian meddling but we wont see one because too many members of the media, tech mavens, and Democrat party (including their socialist splinter parties) were complicit.
We couldn’t really have an investigation showing how Russia has helped organize and fund the left for the past half century.
I put forward the notion that even when it appeared Russia might have run some Facebook ads or Twitter memes to “help” Trump it actually helped Hillary by supporting her narrative of deplorables and by doing what Hillary was doing, driving wedges between different groups on the right.
“We couldn’t really have an investigation showing how Russia has helped organize and fund the left for the past half century. ”
I tend to think the American left has been helping organize and fund for the Russians.
In same way China has been helping organize and fund for N Korea.
Russia can buy American military secrets, and Lefties can get rewarded. Russia could wiretap
Without legal problems, or for anything of criminal nature, Russia could be helpful.
But I tend to think the American left has some talent at organizing and have little shortage in terms finding funding sources.
I don’t the American government which dumps lots of money, is effective in terms organizing or
funding anything which results in achieving an objective.
American Left are religious fanatics that want world totalitarian govt, the Soviets were heading in the correct direction, and so were (and still) a cause to support.
So unlike US that could spend billions of dollars on a country, I don’t think Russia is spending much money supporting US lefties.
I think that the question that Mueller and Rosenstein should be asked is “do you have a good horse running in the Preakness?”. If they start talking about ECOMCON or Site Y, I’ll be very afraid. After all, it is May.
I first saw that movie while living near Site Y and high on codeine. It was a trip.
