I’m thankful Rand runs such an informative and entertaining blog and that things that were once thought impossible are increasingly becoming extraordinarily ordinary.
I’m thankful for the observation of ʻOumuamua, though it would have been nicer if there were spaceships available capable of rendezvous.
Well, Oumuamua might have been a trap.

And fortunately human are still too stupid to fall for it.
Even the massive stupidity is something to be thankful for.
We’ll be seeing many more extrasolar objects passing through once LSST is up and running.
I’m thankful for modern medicine. Of all the times to have cancer, this is probably the best, since treatments keep improving. I figure that the longer they can keep me alive, the better the chance for a real breakthrough.
I’m also thankful for the wonderful 17 years I got to spend with my lovely feline companion Kira, who died in August.
